Organ builder tour

On account of the taxation system in Germany, churches there are in much stronger positions financially than North America. That, and a stronger sense of tradition results in a relatively good market for pipe organs there.

As a result, the art of pipe organ building is in a fairly advanced state in Germany.

Because I had built my own Organ, my organist uncle, Rudolf Heineman arranged for a private tour for my brother and me of Karl Schuke Berliner Orgelbau Werkstatt back in 2000. This was very interesting, and we took lots of photographs. These pages show those photographs, and provide brief writeup of what we saw.
